When we sat down together to plan Mya’s senior session, I immediately saw how much thought and heart she put into envisioning this special milestone. One of her top priorities was including her beloved dog, Millie – a sweet, Golden Retriever, who’s been her loyal companion throughout her high school years. I’ve had the joy of photographing many seniors with their dogs, and I assured Mya we would absolutely make time to capture those precious moments. After all, pets are family, and the bond they share is something truly worth preserving.

Another key element Mya wanted to incorporate was her lacrosse stick, a symbol of her dedication and achievements on the field. Mya’s high school lacrosse career is nothing short of inspiring – she and her team clinched the Girls Lacrosse State Championship last year, a triumphant victory during her junior year. With spring around the corner, and the lacrosse season ramping up, I know she’s gearing up for another fierce run at the title. I’ll be cheering you on from afar, Mya!

When planning senior sessions, I always ask what type of location best reflects their personality and style. Mya envisioned a spot with open fields, vibrant flowers, and maybe even a touch of water. With her session scheduled for July 22nd, this was easily achievable, as fields of wildflowers are in full bloom at that time. Living in Lake Country gives us endless options, so I suggested a nearby river to start before moving on to a dreamy location where golden sunlight filters through wildflowers. It was the ideal setting to capture Mya’s love of nature.

Watching Mya’s confidence emerge during her session was a beautiful reminder of why I love what I do! She brought a quiet energy, grace, and an infectious joy that made every frame feel effortlessly authentic. I’m so excited to see where the rest of her senior year takes her, both on and off the field.
