No doubt that this time in our history will be ingrained in our brains for a long, long time. The global pandemic of Covid-19 has definitely changed our lives in many ways. So many plans have been postponed or canceled altogether. I keep thinking about the seniors in high school and college who will never get the chance to walk across the stage and proudly accept their diploma in front of all their friends and family members. Additionally, they’re missing out on prom, countless awards ceremonies, and in the case of the featured student this week, a trip to New York City to perform at Carnegie Hall.

This blog series is intended to bring a little sunshine their way. They certainly deserve to be celebrated for all they’ve accomplished in their academics and extra-curricular activities. Next up I’m honoring Tyler, who is a senior at Oconomowoc High School. Tyler’s sense of humor really struck me when I asked him what was on his mind when they announced the quarantine. He said,

“I wonder how long it will be until I can get a haircut.”

I think we’re all wondering the same thing! Tyler is a talented musician and accomplished cross country runner. Read on to learn a bit more about him. He’s destined for a lifetime of success and happiness!

What have you learned about yourself during quarantine?
That staying active by running, walking, or biking helps keep spirits high (not focusing on the bad things too much).

What is the first thing you’ll do after the quarantine is over? Go out to eat with my friends and be closer than six feet apart.
