The parents of these two cuties are friends from college but they live all the way in the Milwaukee area (lol) so we don’t see each other too much, especially since we moved out of that area five years ago. This was the first time I’ve photographed their sweet children and it was so much fun! Little Mabel (don’t you just love that name?) has a ridiculous amount of energy that I found myself wishing I could bottle it up and drink a bit when I’m feeling I’m moving toward empty. She had so many skills to show off, from monkey bars, to cartwheels to running as fast as she possibly could. I was astounded and her little brother was too. He tried so hard to try to keep up but it was an impossible task. Nonetheless it was fun to watch him try! We shot the session in the family’s backyard and the light was absolutely perfect. I always say that it’s not WHERE you have your session, it’s WHEN. Yes, the location is important but honestly the time of day is so much moreso. Many families choose to keep it simple and familiar by inviting me over to their homes for sessions and the images end up reflecting so much more about their lives. Capturing yourselves in the place where you spend the most time is so meaningful. I like to encourage that. Enjoy taking a moment to peek into life as a Kovars kid.
