Times like these really bring home the importance of
Family and Freedom
Our hearts go out to those affected directly and indirectly by the war in Ukraine. You may be asking yourself:
What can I do to help?

What can I do to help?
ย A friend of mine, Elly Alenka, was born and raised in Ukraine, moved to the United States when she was 17 years old and has been living here ever since. Her father was still living in Kyiv until just a few weeks ago when he was able to leave the city on foot with nothing but a toothbrush and an extra sweater to protect himself from the freezing wintery winds.
Elly’s father was brought to stay with her here in the U.S. through the tireless effort of many selfless volunteers working to help Ukrainians during these horrendous times.ย
Elly is a professional photographer in New Jersey. She and a group of photographers across the country have banded together, working to raise money for those in need. Julie Collins Photography is also part of this group, called Photographers for Ukraine.
Want to help but don’t know how?
Photographers for Ukraine have done the homework for you and found what we feel is the easiest way to contribute. Direct Help for Ukraine assesses what immediate needs are crucial in the war-torn area and fills the need with gear and supplies based on that daily assessment. You are able to purchase the supplies/gear needed or monetarily donate.
Two of Elly’s closest Ukrainian friends started DIRECT HELP FOR UKRAINE.
DIRECT HELP FOR UKRAINE, featured on CNN, is a grassroots volunteer effort dedicated to helping Ukraine. With the help of many volunteers and companies who are shipping free of charge, 100% of donations are currently helping Ukrainians affected by the war with Russia.
