Time with your children is such a special gift, but sometimes the chaos of life gets in the way of enjoying that time! As moms, we have a LOT on our plates and have to juggle a lot for our kiddos. Not only am I a seasoned family photographer; I’m also the mom to four boys! I’m by no means a parenting expert, but I’m always happy to share any tricks or hacks that I know. Today, I want to share some of my favorite ways to spend time with your children and make family memories that you’ll cherish.

3 Tips for Making Memories with Your Kids

  1. Spend Time Outside as a Family

I can’t emphasize enough how important it is to get outside and spend time together as a family. We’re lucky to live in the Lake Country area with access to amazing county parks, golf courses, state parks, trails, and, of course, all the lakes! There is something for every family and every budget. Honestly, even just going for a family walk or playing frisbee in the backyard is a great way to get outside and play!

Some of my favorite recreational activities are;

  1. Use Local Resource Lake Country Family Fun to Find Activities

It’s no secret that I love Lake Country Family Fun. This incredible local resource offers helpful content and event calendars to help your family have FUN. They really have everything you need to know! From lists such as the best fish frys, local events, best ice cream, seasonal lists of activities to do with your children, and so much more, you’ll find something your family will love! I highly recommend following their Facebook and Instagram for daily updates and inspiration.

  1. Your Family Portrait Session

Truly the best way to enjoy your children now and make precious memories that last is by making sure you schedule your annual family portrait session. You’ll look at your family portrait on the wall and remember how fun it was to take those photos. It will offer you a moment to take a breath and remember your children at that exact moment. I love it when families make their portrait session the highlight of their day and celebrate the time spent as a family. I share tips for making sure your family photo session is stress-free here.

Your Family Photographer

Find a family photographer that will help you make sure your family portraits are a celebration without adding anything to your already full plate. I’m honored to be able to take my clients’ family portraits over the years and get to watch their families grow up. If you think I might be a good fit for your family, I’d love to chat with you!
